Chopmarks:

Ku (Treasury)

Notes:

This is a specimen cast and assayed in Kunmin city by the Fu Shen Yuan Firm in the 2nd year of the Republic of China- one year before Saddle Sycee was totally withdrawn from Yunnan in 1914. Its assaying stamps show that 周 Jou (寶銓 Bao Chuan) and Chen 陳 (元昌 Yuan Chang) whose terms as official public assayers were ended by the former government in the 2nd year of Hsuan Tung (1910) resumed acting two years later as  public assayers in the new regime.

The chopmark of 庫 "Ku" (Treasury) indicates that after the Republican government was established, saddle sycee was accepted as a kind of tax payment for a very short period of time.
