In the memoirs of Chang Yong Shen,  published in 1963, he, being familiar with the traditional Yunnan monetary business, related that Yunnan silver firms usually took remnants from the casting of big ingots to create small ones for daily use. They were called "Hsiao Ke" (Small Tax Silver) and Bs/11-13 are examples of this type.
